How to print a T3 return?

The software is unable to print tax forms directly onto paper (via printers). Instead, it generates a printable PDF file, which is sometimes referred to as the "generate print" feature. Once the PDF file has been created, the software displays its file path on the screen. To access and print the PDF file, you need to use free software such as Adobe Acrobat Reader or Foxit Reader, which can be downloaded from the internet. These programs allow you to view the PDF and choose which pages to print or print all pages.

When you attempt to print/efile a T3 return, the software checks the combination of the trust account and tax year start/end dates to determine if it's a new or existing return. If these details remain unchanged, the software treats it as the same return and deducts 400 points from your docsign account only the first time. However, if you modify any of these fields later and want to print/efile again, the software considers it a new return and will attempt to deduct another 400 points from your account. Therefore, before printing or efiling a new return, double-check the accuracy of the trust account and tax year start/end date fields to avoid unnecessary points deduction from your account.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how the process works:

  1. Open the return in the software.
  2. Select the Print icon or navigate to the Filing/Print menu and choose Generate Print... option
  3. A pop-up message will appear reminding you that 400 points will be deducted (only if it is the first time to print a new return). To proceed, click the Yes button.
  4. Once the PDF file is generated, a pop-up message will appear showing the file path or folder where the file is saved. If you have Adobe Reader or another PDF reader software installed on your computer, you can click the file path shown on the screen to open the PDF directly in the reader. Alternatively, you can launch the reader software manually and open the PDF file by navigating to the specified file path.
